Nine Night - Trafalgar Studios, London
Nine Night Photos & Video
Audiences at the Trafalgar Studios will be in for a treat at the end of 2018 as they become witnesses of the debut play from actress Natasha Gordon, who already earned deserved success when the show originally played the Dorfman National Theatre.
Nine Night warmed the hearts of theatregoers on South Bank, transporting them across the Atlantic to the Caribbean for a story that has compassion and familiar themes and so ensures a lasting impression.
It is a story of mourning and celebration, reminiscing and sharing, with something that can resonate with audiences from all over the world.
Nine Night takes us to Jamaica where we meet the friends and family of Gloria, who has recently passed away. The nine nights of the title refers to ritual wake that takes place in the region, in which storytelling and food consumption takes place to honour the person lost.
Natasha Gordon embarks on the next step of her career with Nine Night, which has so far included a range of acting credits for the stage and screen. Her recent work has included Mules at the Young Vic Theatre, The Low Road at the Royal Court Theatre and TV’s Line Of Duty, amongst many others.
And her work finds great company at the Trafalgar Studios. The Whitehall venue has a busy year across both of its spaces, presenting Killing Joe in Studio 1 and Two For The Seesaw in Studio 2.
But Trafalgar Studios 1 becomes the home of Nine Night from Thursday 6th December 2018 (previews from Saturday 1st December 2018).
