Audiences hoping for a festive treat this Christmas will feel right at home with the latest offering at the Dominion Theatre. The venue, which has regularly housed some of the biggest shows in the capital over the years, welcomes Elf The Musical from October with Ben Forster taking on part made famous by Will Ferrell when he plays Buddy the Elf.

He stars alongside Kimberley Walsh as Jovie, plus further talented cast members such as Jessica Martin, Joe McGann, Mark McKerracher and Graham Lappin. They work under the direction of Morgan Young, who is also the show’s choreographer.

The story initially takes us to the North Pole, where we meet Santa and his elves, and amongst them is Buddy, the human who accidentally stowed away with Santa as a baby and now thinks that he is an elf as well. When he discovers the truth of his background it is time to say goodbye to the North Pole and head to New York City so that he can find and connect with his real father. When he gets to the Big Apple we observe Buddy as he struggles to fit in, with plenty of fish-out-of-water comedy to go with the message of Christmas cheer. As Buddy attempts to make his way in this new world he must also find a place with the rest of his new family.

Kimberley Walsh needs little introduction as those with theatre tickets will undoubtedly recognise her from numerous television appearances and from her role as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The actress has also appeared in Horrid Henry: The Movie, St Trinian’s and shows like Stan The Man. However, she is perhaps best known for being a member of the hit group Girls Aloud, with whom she had many hit single in the UK charts.

Meanwhile, audiences will also recognise Ben Forster from the likes of Jesus Christ Superstar on a UK arena tour.

Elf The Musical joins a West End that already entertains audiences with adaptations of hit movies, from Billy Elliot The Musical to The Lion King, but it is sure to stand out when it runs at the Dominion Theatre from Thursday 5th November 2015 (previews from Saturday 24th October 2015).
