What do you get when you combine some of the nation’s most talented comic performers with a celebrated writer whose work has often taken audiences by storm?
The answer is the latest revival headed to the Vaudeville Theatre. Dead Funny by Terry Johnson will star the likes of Ralf Little (The Royle Family), Steve Pemberton (The League Of Gentlemen) and many others as it sets up shop in the West End late in 2016. To call this show a must-see would be an understatement!
Dead Funny focuses on the trials and tribulations of couple Eleanor and Richard, who are both in very different places when it comes to their marriage. It means that they could be at a turning point as Richard becomes incredibly busy with his Dead Funny Society, particularly as comedy legends Frankie Howerd and Benny Hill have just died. Eleanor wants to focus on their relationship whilst Richard’s mind is elsewhere.
The show was first seen by audiences back in 1994 and now, more than 20 years later, we get to revisit it with this impressive cast that not only includes Pemberton and Little but also Katherine Parkinson, Emily Berrington and Rufus Jones, whilst Johnson himself takes on directing duties.
It means that this truly becomes an unmissable event, with the show’s cast boasting a wealth of credits each, from Ralf Little’s role in Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps to Rufus Hound’s appearance in West End hit One Man, Two Guvnors.
So makes sure you’re first in line for Dead Funny at the Vaudeville Theatre from Thursday 3rd November 2016 (previews from Thursday 27th October 2016).
