John Malkovich is a name that audiences around the world associate with great performances, whether through his myriad films and television productions or his numerous stage appearances as well. With that in mind, theatregoers will surely be flocking to the Garrick Theatre this June as the acclaimed actor appears in David Mamet’s new play Bitter Wheat.
This production touches on current events, particularly the movement to expose the sexual behaviours of certain Hollywood men, whilst offering what audiences would expect from a play by Mamet, whose work over the years has made him into one of the most prominent voices on a world stage. With John Malkovich in the mix as well, this will surely be one of the theatre events of the year.
Malkovich takes on the role of Barney Fein, the head of a Hollywood studio and an out-of-control monster whose methods will be of no surprise to those that have followed the movement that has brought down many Hollywood figures. With the razor-sharp storytelling and dialogue of David Mamet brought to life by screen legend John Malkovich, this production will come to life in London’s West End. It also stars Doon Mackichan and Ioanna Kimbrook in the production, with David Mamet himself calling the shots as director.
Malkovich is one of many well known performers heading to the capital in 2019, demonstrating the West End’s ongoing power to attract top talent year after year. It remains one of the best places to witness some of the world’s leading talents treading the boards
Bitter Wheat makes its anticipated appearance at the Garrick Theatre from Wednesday 19th June 2019 (previews from Friday 7th June 2019).
